Thomas Rüedi (*1969) is a Swiss euphonium virtuoso, music teacher, composer, arranger and conductor.
His solo engagements have taken him all over Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and the USA. He has worked with numerous sympho- ny orchestras, wind orchestras and brass bands. Thomas Rüedi's solo recordings 'Elegie,' 'Madrigal' and 'Monologue' have received international acclaim.
Thomas Rüedi is strongly committed to the education of young musicians. He is a profes- sor of euphonium and chamber music at the Bern University of the Arts and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland.
As a guest professor, he regularly gives mas- terclasses worldwide.
Thomas Rüedi is also a acclaimed composer and arranger. His œuvre includes over fifty works for wind- and brass band and solo music for euphonium. His numerous arrange- ments of Swiss folk songs in particular have a firm place in the band music repertoire.
